Quickstart Guide

Getting started with Redd is designed to be frictionless. There are no API keys to manage and no complex server setups. Follow these steps to have your first monitor running in less than a minute.

Step 1: Sign In

Redd uses a passwordless authentication system.

  1. Go to the Login Page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Check your inbox for a one-time passcode (OTP).
  4. Enter the code on the site to sign in instantly.

Step 2: Create a Monitor

Once signed in, click the "New Monitor" button on your dashboard. You will be presented with the Visual Builder.

  1. Name your monitor: Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Python Concurrency Tracker").
  2. Add a Condition: Click "Add Condition" and select a type, such as SubredditIsAnyOf.
  3. Enter Values: Type in the subreddits you want to monitor (e.g., python, golang) and press Enter to save them as tags.
  4. Add Keywords: Add another condition like TitleContainsAnyOf and enter keywords like async or concurrency.

Step 3: Configure Logic

By default, multiple conditions are grouped with AND logic, meaning a post must meet all criteria to match. You can change this to OR or create nested groups by clicking the logic toggle in the builder.

Step 4: Save and Monitor

Click "Save Monitor". Your monitor is now active and running in the background.

  • Dashboard: New matches will appear in real-time on your dashboard.
  • Reddit Links: Every match includes a direct link to the original thread or comment.
  • Matched Values: Redd highlights exactly which keyword or condition triggered the match.

Step 5: (Optional) Add Delivery

If you want to be notified outside of the dashboard:

  • Email: Enable email digests in your monitor settings to receive updates on unseen matches.
  • Webhooks: Enter a URL and a secret to push matches to your own application or a tool like Zapier.
AI Features

If you want to further refine your results, you can add an AI Filter to your monitor. This requires AI credits, which can be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis.
